The Bonim Leadership and Travel Program is a recreational, educational and cultural experience, building character and social skills along with a strong Jewish identity. Camp Laurelwood’s popular Bonim program combines community service, counselor training and leadership skills for campers entering 10th grade.

Campers will enter camp for just a few days in time to prepare for a trip of a lifetime. They will head off to Costa Rica where they will be spending 18 glorious days filled with a variety of activities. A description of the trip can be seen below. Upon the return to camp, there will be development/leadership sessions for them to be involved in. For those campers who choose to stay for Session 2 – the Session will be broken up into Leadership, counselor training, team building, community service and an opportunity for them to become CPR, First Aid and Lifeguarding certified. Campers may enroll in either session or for the full season.

Campers who successfully demonstrate leadership skills and positive behavior will be invited back as staff for the following summer, to be part of the Camp Laurelwood Junior Counselor program.
